Não imaginava que o curso ia impactar tanto na minha vida. Eu escuto o meu inglês hoje e comparo com antigamente… nossa, foi um divisor de águas pra mim!
Even though I’ve lived in the U.S. for years, I wasn’t able to hear or pronounce certain sounds. Now I feel much more natural and confi dent!
I live in Brazil but work for an American company. I looked everywhere for someone to help me sound more natural, but there simply weren’t any courses that helped – until Sounds Natural. Now I feel much more confi dent. There’s no more pressure or struggle.
I’ve been trying forever to feel free when speaking English, and Sounds Natural is what fi nally made it happen. Talking to people feels so much easier now.
eu nunca tinha visto um curso como esse antes. Vale todo o investimento.

Whether you’re just starting out or ready for a breakthrough, Muscles & Sounds
has helped students feel their voice, build confidence, and speak with power
I’m excited to work with you and help you speak English with clarity and confidence!
This course is for you – a smart, capable Brazilian, who has MUCH to offer – but when you speak English you still:
a) Feels like your English is never good enough.
b) Stay quiet – or don’t speak as much as you’d like to – even though you have a lot to say.
c) Hesitate
d) Feels too afraid – so you hold back from opportunities, not applying for that dream job, avoiding casual conversations, etc.
But it doesn’t need be this way! This course will help you sound clear, confident, and natural! Whether you’re struggling with vowels, consonants, or certain pronunciation habits, this course will help you train your speech muscles effectively!
Sounds Natural is not your typical English course — it’s a complete accent modification training program designed especially for Brazilian learners who want to speak more clearly, confidently, and naturally in English. The program focuses on what most Brazilians never learned in school: how to move your mouth, lips, and tongue to produce English sounds accurately — and how to sound more natural when speaking.
You’ll improve your pronunciation, speech patterns, and overall communication skills through structured video lessons and targeted practice.
The program is divided into two levels:
Level 1 – Muscles & Sounds:
This level helps you master the individual sounds of English — vowels and consonants — especially the ones that are challenging for Brazilian Portuguese speakers. You’ll train your articulatory muscles and learn how to produce each sound clearly and correctly. It’s like pronunciation gym!
Level 2 – American Rhythm & Intonation:
This level focuses on the melody and rhythm of American English — including word stress, sentence stress, reductions, linking, and intonation patterns. It’s the secret sauce that makes native speakers sound fluent and expressive — and it’s often what’s missing from traditional classes.
Whether you’re a Brazilian professional living abroad, preparing for job interviews, or simply tired of being asked to repeat yourself — Sounds Natural was made for you.
Muscles and Sounds is the first of my 2-level course: Sounds Natural. It is a 13-week course designed to help you transform your articulation and production of American sounds. The program is available on the Sounds Natural platform and a user-friendly mobile app. Each week is packed with video lessons, practice, MMAs, and exercises.
Alongside the core content, you’ll get two live sessions each week – one with Debbie and the other with Sounds Natural coaches. During these sessions, you can sign up for feedback, practice challenging pronunciation drills, and ask questions about the lessons. All sessions will be recorded, so you can watch them at your convenience.
You are also free to invite other members to conversation groups within the platform, where you can practice speaking and apply what you’ve learned in a supportive environment with fellow community members.
Lastly, you’ll be able to connect, share your progress, and practice with others in our vibrant Community Feed!
This course is ideal for students from pre- intermediate level of English to profecient (B1 to C2). You should be able to understand spoken and written English and form basic sentences. The focus is on pronunciation, so you don’t need perfect grammar—just a willingness to practice and improve how you sound!
Absolutely! If you’re already comfortable with English but want to sound more fluent and confident, this course is perfect for you. We’ll dive deep into the sounds that don’t exist in Portuguese, giving you the tools to pronounce them with ease. With personalized techniques and targeted exercises, you’ll notice an immediate improvement in how you speak. This is your chance to go beyond just “speaking” and truly own your English with a clear, natural, and authentic accent!
All lessons in Muscles & Sounds are taught in English — but every video is also available in Portuguese! You’ll have access to two versions of each video lesson: one completely in English, and one in Portuguese.
This way, advanced learners can dive right into the English version, while those at lower levels can start with the Portuguese explanation to feel more confident. It’s the same content, just explained in two different languages — so you can choose what works best for you.
Unlike generic courses, this one is made for Brazilians! It focuses on the sounds that are hardest for Portuguese speakers and uses practical, step-by-step training to help you develop clearer pronunciation habits. A key part of our methodology is muscle training, helping you build strength and coordination
With consistent practice, most students notice improvements in just a few weeks! The key is to apply the techniques daily and use the provided exercises to train your muscles.
Nope! You only need a computer or a phone, your voice, a mirror, and a willingness to practice. We’ll also guide you on how to use free apps and tools to improve your pronunciation faster.
Lessons include video explanations, guided exercises, and real-world practice. You’ll also get recording challenges to track your progress and weekly live feedback sessions!
No worries! The course helps you build confidence step by step. You’ll practice at your own pace, and when you’re ready, you can join our supportive community of learners to practice in a safe space.
The course lasts 3 months, but you’ll have an extra 2 months to access the recorded lessons and materials as a gift! This gives you additional time to review lessons and practice at your own pace.
Each week, you’ll have the chance to join drop-in live sessions, where you can ask questions, receive real-time feedback, and practice directly with the instructor. These sessions are interactive, allowing you to open your microphone and get immediate answers to your doubts. It’s a great opportunity to refine your pronunciation and stay motivated throughout the course.
No worries! The course helps you build confidence step by step. You’ll practice at your own pace, and when you’re ready, you can join our supportive community of learners to practice in a safe space.

This week is all about getting you started on your American accent, helping you discover your own voice, and building the habits you need to completing the course.
Learn how to differentiate beach and b*tch - two of the trickiest vowels for Brazilian speakers.
- Videolesson and step-by-step mouth movement guide for accurate pronunciation.
- Minimal pair training to distinguish /ɪ/ from /i/
- Practice exercises with shadowing, music, tongue twisters, movies and tv shows for natural fluency.
Many Brazilians struggle with open vowels because they tend to keep their mouths too closed when speaking English.
- Train your mouth to open properly for open vowels
-Listening drills to fix common Brazilian pronunciation mistakes.
- Imitation exercises so you sound natural and confident.
If you’re not using the schwa /ə/ correctly, your English sounds unnatural and choppy. This tiny sound is the secret to stress, rhythm, and real fluency.
- Master the schwa and when to use it in words.
-Train syllable stress and rhythm to make your English flow.
- Imitate native speech patterns for effortless pronunciation.
Brazilians often mix up the ‘U’ sounds in English, making words like look and Luke sound the same. But small mistakes like this can change the meaning of what you say!
- Learn the key difference between /ʊ/ , /u/ and /oʊ/
- Train your ears and mouth to pronounce them correctly
-Practice real words and sentences for a polished accent
Rolling or tapping your ‘R’ in English instantly reveals your Brazilian accent- but you can change that! The American ‘R’ (/ɹ/) is a powerful sound that makes your speech stronger and clearer.
-Learn the exact tongue position for a clear, strong ‘R’
-Practice smooth linking of ‘R’ in words and sentences
- Eliminate rolled or tapped ‘R’ mistakes for a native-like accent.
Many Brazilians replace L with a “U” sound, making feel sound like fiu. The problem? Weak tongue muscles and incorrect articulation. To pronounce L correctly, your tongue needs to work in a precise, controlled way.
- Train your tongue muscles to lift and hold the correct L position.
- Practice targeted exercises to make your L sound clear, not like a hidden vowel.
Brazilians often skip final consonants or don’t aspirate properly, making words sound incomplete. Some even add an extra vowel after final consonants, turning stop into stopi or desk into deski.
-Master aspiration in sounds like /p, t, k/ to avoid a “soft” accent
- Learn to pronounce final consonants clearly so your words sound complete.
Did you know that T and D don’t always sound like “T” and “D” in American English? Brazilians often pronounce them too strongly or miss their natural variations, making speech sound unnatural.
- Master the Flap T in words, phrases and sentences.
-Learn how to stop the air and make the glottal stop.
Many Brazilians struggle with “ch” and “j” sounds, pronouncing words like to, too, and two like chew. These mistakes make your accent stand out.
In this lesson, you’ll:
- Learn the difference between /tʃ/ (CH) and /ʤ/ (J)
- Train with real words and sentences for perfect clarity
Brazilians often replace TH with D, T or F , making think sound like fink or that sound like dat. The key to mastering TH is not just knowing the position—it’s learning how to control your tongue in real speech!
- Train your tongue to hold the TH position without tension
- Learn to smoothly transition TH into the next sound for natural speech flow
Many Brazilians soften or skip velar sounds like /k/ and /ŋ/. Words like Mexican and expectations should have a clear, strong K sound, but they often sound too weak or unclear. Plus, many speakers pronounce sing like sin, losing the nasal NG sound!
-Train your tongue to hit the /k/ sound clearly in fast speech
- Master the NG sound (/ŋ/) so sing doesn’t sound like sin
- Practice tricky words like "expectations" and "Mexican" to build muscle memory
Many Brazilians overpronounce -ED or say it too mechanically, making their speech sound unnatural, especially in when telling stories or using adjectives.
- Practice -ED endings in isolation to build accuracy.
- Train using -ED naturally in storytelling so your speech flows smoothly
